Louisville Slugger Field, home of the Louisville Bats, is one of the most exciting and attractive sites in minor league baseball. Named after the popular Louisville Slugger baseball bat, the stadium offers something for fans of all ages. With its retro-classic design, Slugger Field has quickly become one of the most admired parks in all of baseball. Many consider Louisville Slugger Field to be the finest minor league park in the country.
The design of Louisville Slugger Field is a joint effort of HNTB Architects of Kansas City, Mo., and K. Norman Berry and Associates of Louisville. The field was financed through a partnership between the city, the Bats, Hillerich & Bradsby, the Brown Foundation, Human Inc. and the Humana Foundation. Hillerich & Bradsby, makers of the famous Louisville Slugger baseball bat, purchased the naming rights for the stadium. The Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory is down the street from the stadium.
The stadium cost $39 million and includes 32 private suites, second-level club seating, a continuous concourse around the field, an outfield seating berm, extensive press facilities, concessions and restrooms, a children's play area, team and administrative offices and numerous retail amenities. And, most importantly for baseball purists, the recessed playing field features natural grass.
The Louisville Bats, the AAA affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds, play at the unique Louisville Slugger Field, located in downtown Louisville, Kentucky. Bats Home page
